Here was the time for my favorite sport, the Formula 1! The qualifying was just as good! This year has already ended the one man show that was being followed at F1 for the past 8-9 years! The race was indeed a disaster for Ferrari fans like me, but still hats off to the patience of Lewis Hamilton, he surely has a style of the great one - Schumi! His driving on the wet track and his control was awesome! When all the cars were sliding and making turns, he looked as if he had thorns attached to his tyres for grip!

It was indeed nice to see the championship wide open for many drivers. I hope Kimi or Lewis wins it! But we cant forget the possibilities of new stars like Kubica who has been outstanding! His return from that accident to finish on podium was simply awesome to see!

Lets hope that the quest continues the same way with more competition!

The best of the lot!

As if the day's entertainment wasn't enough, the best surely came in the end! And for a die hard fan of Tennis, it was the best match! If saturday saw the fitness levels of two of the finest ladies in women tennis(who else can fight it out in the finals for 2 hrs, take a rest for 3 hrs, and not only play in the doubles finals but to win!!!), sunday was the most waited day for finals, as the fedex was about to take on the boxer of the men's tennis!

Although I like Nadal for his powerful forehands, I was looking forward to see Fedex thras Nadal in the same way as he thrashed Roddick in last year's Australian Open semis. But all went in vain, it was disheartening to see Fedex losing his touch against his much younger competitor! Although people might say that Fedex's fight back was great to see, the way he lost the 2nd set was simply unbearable to see! After breaking Nadal and leading 3-0, who would've probably thought that Nadal would come back so strong! No excuses for making such unforced errors Fedex!

But as a tennis fan, yes, if not the most interesting, the finals was certainly interesting and what else can a tennis fan ask for!!!

And the match came to an end when it was about 12:20 AM monday morning on my clock!!!

What a day it was!

7:40 PM - 9:20 PM

Although I am not a cricket fan, it was the finals between India and Sri Lanka, and like most of the families in India, my family is no different when it comes to watching a final match with India in such a fine touch! I was forced to sit with the family and watch the Indian batting, and yeah, they were great for the first 9 overs!

Boy o boy, surely the IPL has changed the mindsets of the batsmen all over the world, and it has affected the longer version of the game as well! Where are those batsmen like Sachin n Saurav who always "took 5-6 overs to settle in"! All I could see was some entertaining fireworks from Sehwag, and he certainly looked at his best, but hats off to Mendis for such a fine spell. Never have I seen anyone so accurate! Not even the Pigeon & my all time favorite Shane Warne! That man single handedly took away the match from Indians! Although it was a sad moment for Indian cricket fans, none the less, it was nice to see a man so accurate in his bowling on a tournament which was dominated by batsmen!

Time : 12:00 AM-2:13 AM

As most of India was asleep, there were few football freaks glued to the TV, the time was nearing! One month of football extravaganza was about to come to an end! Although most of the favorites were out, there was still one team left, Germany, waiting to get hands on the coveted Gold. And many of us believed that Spain, though is a competitive side will be stopped by veterans like Ballack, specially after their thrilling victory over Turkey in the semis.

But as it always is in the recent years, Euro-2008 was no different, Spain, a team on which there weren't much hopes became the Champions. And yeah, though it was no match to the 2000 classic final between France and Italy, it still showed how strategy can play a major role in winning the games! Boy it was a classic affair after all!
